1 – “Glisten!” – An All-New Skating Spectacular
“Glisten!” is an all-new skating spectacular in front of the theater at the end of Hollywood Boulevard, many times throughout the night. When we heard about this, we were unsure how an ice skating show would work in Florida (it was 85 at the start of the evening), but we were pleasantly surprised. While the stage is small, the international champion skaters still have plenty of space to perform some fantastic routines. The skaters dance to holiday songs and some Disney favorites like “Be Our Guest’ and “When You Wish Upon A Star.” We applaud Disney for adding something unique and unexpected during the event. We enjoyed the show and recommend it!
The show itself is about 15 minutes. While the stage is raised slightly, viewing the show brings challenges. Thankfully, Disney anticipated these problems and had two different sections. A rather large section up front was for guests willing to remain seated for the entire show. Those who wanted to stand had a section in the back. Not surprisingly, the first show was the most crowded. We attended the last show at 12:15 am, and it was a lot less busy.
2 – Disney Holidays in Hollywood
Back again this year is a fan-favorite, “Disney Holidays in Hollywood,” where guests can enjoy Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy live as they host a spectacular show where contemporary jazz flair meets the classic charm of vintage Hollywood. This is the most family-friendly offering of the evening. We were surrounded by young children who loved seeing Belle, Tiana, and Mickey and Minnie up on the stage! Adults will love the talented cast of singers, dancers, and jazz musicians. “Disney’s Holidays in Hollywood” takes place at the theater off Sunset Boulevard at 8:15 pm, 9:15 pm, 11:15 pm, and 12:15 am, giving you plenty of chances to see the show.
3 – Pixar Dance Party
Families or Pixar Fans will want to stop by Pixar Place for an all-new Pixar-themed dance party. We found Joy, Frozone, Edna Mode, and Mike Wazowski dancing it up to holiday and dance tunes. The DJ was high-energy and did a great job with the crowd. If you want to dance with your favorite Pixar pals or let your kids get a lot of energy out, this is the place!
4 – Holiday Fiesta en la Calle
Another dancing location for guests is Holiday Fiesta en la Calle, which brings the energy of a Latin street fair to life in its new location at Animation Courtyard. A live band and dancers heat up the night. Even if you’re not in a Latin dancing mood, be sure to stop by and watch the excellent dancers. Additionally, Jose Carioca and Panchito from The Three Caballeros join in on the fun, adding their charm to this spirited celebration of culture, music, and holiday cheer.
5 – Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!
“Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” the beloved nighttime spectacular returns this year at a new time. At 10 pm, guests will embark on a festive journey to the North Pole with the elves from “Prep & Landing.”
The Chinese Theater comes alive with holiday moments from Disney favorites like “Pluto’s Christmas Tree,” “Mickey’s Christmas Carol,” and “Beauty and the Beast,” all leading up to a sparkling finale that’s “So tinsel!” Note the new time and experience of this showstopping showcase of lasers, fireworks, and more!
6 – Twilight Soiree at the Tip Top Club
One spot you definitely need to stop by is the Twilight Soiree at the Tip Top Club at the Twilight Tower Hotel. You’ll step back in time to the 1930s and enjoy a live band and singer performing holiday tunes. The singer we heard was amazing. Her perfectly raspy singing voice is precisely what you would expect, and she was perfect. The jazz band was also great. This area is small and jam-packed, but it’s well worth fighting the crowds to listen in for a while.
7 – What’s This? Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along
Finally, if you love Time Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, you want to attend the sing-along at the Hyperion Theater. You’ll sing along to your favorite songs from Tim Burton’s classic film.
