Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods on the Disney Wish – What You Need to Know
When dining on the Disney Wish, the latest Disney Cruise Line ship, there is no shortage of fantastic dining options for families. There are plenty of new quick and casual family dining options. On Deck 11, families have some terrific new options that are not only tasty, but with different cuisine options, everyone in the family can enjoy their favorite foods. Learn more below.
Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods
Located right in the middle of the fun on the upper decks, Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods is the perfect place for families to grab a quick bite for lunch, dinner, or anytime in between. Avid Disney cruisers will be particularly pleased by the mix of fan-favorite treats, like Disney Cruise Line’s signature soft-serve ice cream, with two new selections: the fleet’s first dedicated quick-service venues for barbeque and Mexican-inspired fare.
This open-air eatery features five themed food stalls: Mickey’s Smokestack Barbecue, Donald’s Cantina, Daisy’s Pizza Pies, Goofy’s Grill, and Sweet Minnie’s Ice Cream. The whimsical design is inspired by the seaside boardwalk setting featured in popular “Mickey Mouse” animated shorts, a fitting addition to the Mickey and Friends-themed family district on the upper decks.
Seating Area
A sizable, shaded seating area provides convenient and comfortable accommodations for families to relax and enjoy their meals. We didn’t have much trouble securing a table, and it was fantastic to eat in the shade at lunchtime when it was a very hot day.
Donald’s Cantina
We ate at two locations during our cruise, Donald’s Cantina and Mickey’s Smokestack Barbecue. We absolutely love the addition of Donald’s Cantina. Whether for lunch or just a quick snack to keep fueled for playing in the pool, a taco or two is the perfect afternoon treat. We particularly appreciated the variety of choices of salsas and hot sauces, and found ourselves stopping by repeatedly for a small plate of chips and salsa.
We also really enjoyed a meal at Mickey’s Smokestack Barbecue. A little heavier meal than Donald’s Cantina, we’re glad to have have a choice for lunching and snacking that is completely different than normal cruise ship quick service fare. For a quick service level dining option, the barbecue was surprisingly good. As a point of comparison, Mickey’s Smokestack Barbecue is a significant jump up from Flame Tree Barbecue in Animal Kingdom.
The Disney Wish
The Disney Wish offers three- and four-night cruises to Nassau, Bahamas, and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, from Port Canaveral, Florida.
