Once you step foot on your Disney ship, you’ll instantly feel the stress melting off you! Take your relaxation one step further by experiencing Senses Spa and Salon, available on all Disney Cruise Line ships. Here’s what to know before taking your relaxation to the max!

1 – Land vs. Sea

You may have tried Senses Spa located at Walt Disney World’s Grand Floridian Resort or Saratoga Springs Resort. It’s truly a high-end spa that is paramount to any others out there! Now, try Senses Spa on the Disney Cruise Line, and you’ll likely be unable to find anything to match the experience. While many of the services are the same on land and sea, there is one factor that land can’t touch – and that’s the ocean! The Senses Spa has floor-to-ceiling windows around almost every corner, making the views while you unwind worth keeping your eyes open for.

2 – You Need to Make a Reservation

Guests will need to book therapies and treatments via the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. Once on board the ship, Guests can call Senses Spa & Salon directly using their stateroom phone, or stop by the Senses Spa & Salon reception desk to reserve therapies and treatments. 3 – Soothing Environment

No secret here – Senses Spa and Salon is known for its soothing environment. They accomplish this through a relaxing check-in process, highly trained Cast Members, offering drinks for their juice bar, and peaceful music. Even the color tones of the different spaces are neutral and calming. Comfortable chairs plus the views we mentioned above are extremely soothing even while you wait for your treatment to begin.

4 – SO Many Choices!

How you prefer to destress is probably the toughest decision when it comes to Senses Spa. There are so many services provided, leaving it nearly impossible to pick just one. Many of the services are exactly what you’d expect to find at a spa and salon including massages, manicures, pedicures, facials, and hairstyling. As if these aren’t enough, Senses offers additional services like body wraps, acupuncture, teeth whitening, aromatherapy, and men’s grooming. Each of these options has numerous selections too so when you say you want a massage, be prepared to select from several types of massages to pick which one intrigues you the most. If you’re in need of a workout, the fitness portion of Senses Spa has high-end equipment and beautiful views, plus a juice bar right next to it for getting the perfect amount of nutrients needed before or after your workout. But, wait – it’s doesn’t stop there!

5 – Private Spa Villas

Looking for the ultimate private spa experience? Reserve a Spa Villa! This is a Villa that can be booked for one or for two and is a private treatment room just for you. The Mediterranean-inspired rooms even have a verandah for unbelievable views of the ocean. There is a personal whirlpool, open-air shower, and bed with canopy, plus services including a bathing ritual of your choice, a tea ceremony, and a foot cleansing ceremony. Talk about RELAXING! The services, such as a couple’s massage, you select while in your Spa Villa will adjust the cost and duration depending on your selection.

6 – Skin Care with Rejuvenation Spa

Relaxation is key at Senses, but did you know you could go even further and focus on the wellness of your skin? New to the Disney Cruise Line Senses Spa is the Rejuvenation Spa. Special treatments with Rejuvenation Spa focus on skincare and ways to improve your health and appearance right from the ship. And get this – a 30-minute physician consultation is required for each person looking to experience this care. Four types of services are provided (if approved medially first): a wrinkle softener, dermal filler, skin tightening, and fat reduction. The non-surgical treatments can range from the face to practically the full body. It’s amazing to think this all happens while out in the middle of the sea!

7 – Chill Spa for Teens

Have a 13 to 17-year-old in need of some chill-out time? Disney has that covered with their Chill Spa, available only for teens. Many of the same services that are offered for adults are also offered for teens but with a teen twist. They have a pedicure that features ice cream flavors to soak your feet in and that perfect pop of color to choose to go on the nails. If you’re looking for some mother-daughter or father-son time, you can get a massage together at the Chill Spa. Tired of popping pimples? Chill Spa even has an Acne Attack Facial.

8 – Yes, It’s Expensive

Well, as with anything “high-end,” you can expect the cost to be high too. Senses Spa will cost you, so you’ll have to decide in advance if the treatment will be worth the money. Prices range from a $24 men’s haircut to $599 for a Spa Suite Experience (prices subject to change). Add multiple services, and the total can quickly climb. Plus, don’t forget about gratuity. An 18% gratuity is added to many of the packages, with the option of adding more if you’d like. The Cast Members will also try selling you different products they would recommend for your skin type, hair, nails, etc. These products aren’t cheap as they are, of course, high-end items. If this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience to cruise with Disney, then we say go for it. Life is short, and you deserve some pampering!

9 – Our Personal Experience

My mom and I were fortunate enough to explore the Senses Spa on the Disney Dream. It was everything we thought it would be! Right from the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with a smile and asked to fill out some paperwork. We had reserved a pedicure in advance. The Cast Members providing the service were super sweet and excellent at what they did. While we sat back in our chairs, we could see out the large windows into the horizon over the ocean. The chairs were comfortable and had a massaging mechanism. While our feet were soaked, the Cast Members even used some cream on our faces and talked about different products with us. They also seemed to work on our legs as much as our feet! There was always a chance to upgrade something, such as the type of nail polish or skincare product, but we stuck with what came with the pedicure package. Our only complaint is that we could have sat there forever! The duration was sufficient, however, and we tipped above the 18% because the Cast Members deserved it. Senses is an experience we’d highly recommend and likely do next time around if it fits into the budget.
