NEWS: New DVC Member Lounge Opens at Magic Kingdom and It’s Awesome!

Disney Vacation Club is a popular way for guests to enjoy many Walt Disney World vacations year after year. Not only do families enjoy fantastic resort options, but eligible* DVC guests receive extra perks with Membership Magic benefits. One of those benefits is the ability to enjoy member-exclusive lounges. The 2nd in-park Disney Vacation Club Member Lounge is opening at Walt Disney World in Frontierland! We attended a sneak peek of the lounge and loved what we saw. Learn more below!

1 – Disney Vacation Club McKim’s Mile House – A Member Lounge

The new McKim’s Mile House—A Member Lounge is located in Frontierland next to the Frontier Trading Post. It offers eligible members and their guests a place to relax, recharge, and enjoy another space that fits perfectly into Frontierland’s story. The lounge was founded by the fictional McKim Family in the 1800s during the height of the Gold Rush and served as a resting place for countless guests as they made their way West by stagecoach. Historic mile houses of the American West inspired Imagineers as they created the lounge.

2 – Honoring Disney Legend Sam McKim

Another huge inspiration for McKim’s Mile House is the art and legacy of Disney Legend and former Imagineer Sam McKim. He contributed a lot of concept art for the original Frontierland in Disneyland Park. Several pieces of his are on display in the lounge. As part of the lounge’s story, the McKim family lives in the house, so you’ll also see plenty of artwork by the children!

3 – Other Fun Nods 

As you look around the room, you’ll notice a second story with the names of the guests on the doors to the guest rooms. One room has the occupant Barnabas T. Bullion, who guests may recognize as the owner and founder of the Big Thunder Mining Company! Another room is occupied by M. Davis, which is a nod to Disney Legend Marc Davis.

4 – Perfectly Themed to Frontierland

When you enter the lounge, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back to the mid-1800s. From the wallpaper to the ceiling to the fabrics and the beautifully hand-carved fireplace, the room fits the theme of Frontierland perfectly. The special nods and additions that Disney Imagineers have added make the space even more special. We expect this lounge to be very popular with guests!

5 – Relax and Unwind

The lounge features plenty of comfortable seating, such as armchairs, sofas, and chairs. Throughout the room, there are charging stations for guests’ devices and complimentary Wi-Fi. Complimentary soft drinks, coffee, and more are also offered.

6 – The Frontier’s Best Kept Secret Open Daily

Outside guests will find the slogan “The Frontier’s Best Kept Secret,” which is a special nod to a former Disney Vacation Club slogan, “Discover the best kept Disney secret.” The lounge is open daily from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. EST and for all eligible*  Disney Vacation Club Members with valid park tickets and reservations to Magic Kingdom Park.

7 – 2nd In-Park Member Lounge at Walt Disney World

This is the 2nd in-park Disney Vacation Club Member Lounge at Walt Disney World, the other being Disney Vacation Club ImaginAtrium – A Member Lounge EPCOT. DVC also has a Member lounge at Disneyland Park in California called Disney Vacation Club Star View Station – A Member Lounge. The Top of the World Lounge – A Villains Lair atop Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is also open for eligible guests.
