Dining on the Disney Treasure – What You Need to Know
From theatrical entertainment to cinematic adventure to sophisticated elegance, dinner aboard the Disney Treasure is much more than a meal — it’s a chance to interact with favorite Disney stories in exciting new ways only Disney Cruise Line can cook up. We enjoyed a special preview cruise where we could check out each venue included in your cruise fare; no additional fees are required! We loved the dining offerings on the Disney Treasure. Learn more below.
1 – A Disney Cruise Line Tradition: Rotational Dining
The Disney Treasure continues Disney Cruise Line’s innovative family dining concept, where guests experience one of three imaginative restaurants each night, accompanied by a dedicated service team assigned to their family throughout the voyage. With exceptional attention to detail, guests enjoy a variety of dining experiences with friendly, familiar, and personalized service every evening. On the Disney Treasure, guests will enjoy three main dining experiences: Plaza de Coco (new and exclusive to Disney Treasure), Worlds of Marvel (with one exclusive show), and 1923.
2 – Plaza de Coco
Plaza de Coco is the world’s first theatrical dining experience themed to the Disney and Pixar film, “Coco.” Guests are transported to Santa Cecelia, the picturesque town depicted in the Pixar Animation Studios film, “Coco.” The story of Miguel and his familia continues where it left off on screen as they gather in Mariachi Plaza to take guests on two nights of colorful, music-filled journeys that celebrate family memories and togetherness with festive dinner menus of modern twists on traditional Mexican fare and a lineup of live entertainment.
On the first night, guests are invited to accompany Miguel and his familia to a festive gathering that honors the heritage of music and the love of family as Miguel and the town’s mariachi band. Miguel reunites with his great-great-grandparents, Hector and Mama Imelda on the second night. Miguel celebrates Dia de Los Muertos—the Day of the Dead, along with other celebrations such as birthdays or anniversaries that guests might be celebrating. This is the show that we were able to experience, and the music was great!
At Plaza de Coco, an array of food offerings capture the festive flavors of Miguel’s colorful world in a fresh new way. Dishes include Luisa’s Pollo Asado, which features Michoacán citrus chicken, cilantro rice, and serrano-tomatillo salsa; Enrique’s Port Wine Braised Center Cut Beef Short Rib with cheddar cheese and green onion red mash, and long green beans with crisp shallots; Pan-Seared Adobo Spiced Sea Bass with seared scallops, to name a few. We really enjoyed the food at Plaza de Coco, which was our favorite of the main dining offerings overall. The enchiladas and the churros were our favorite items from the meal!
3 – World of Marvel
Worlds of Marvel, Disney Cruise Line’s Marvel-themed dining experience, hosts Disney Treasure guests for two nights, including a brand-new offering showcasing the lively duo Rocket and Groot from the blockbuster “Guardians of the Galaxy” films. “Marvel Celebration of Heroes: Groot Remix” begins as diners partake in a celebration honoring the many Super Heroes who keep the world safe. The story unfolds onscreen when Groot takes over the proceedings and brings the party to the next level like only he can. Throughout the evening, guests eat to the beat of an “awesome mix” of hit songs from decades past and have the chance to test their knowledge of the Marvel universe with activities for the whole family.
Guests on the Disney Treasure will also experience “Avengers: Quantum Encounter,” a fan-favorite cinematic dining adventure that follows Ant-Man and The Wasp as they work to protect new Quantum Core technology from a fearsome foe. “Avengers: Quantum Encounter” offers the same story as the Disney Wish dining experience.
During our preview cruise, we had a chance to experience the Groot Remix dinner. We appreciated the laid-back offering since you could engage in the story as much or as little as you wanted. The music played during dinner was fantastic, and we appreciated the shorter story than the “Avengers: Quantum Encounter.” While we love the longer show and the antics of Ant-Man, as a second-night offering, this show was the right amount of entertainment, letting guests enjoy the restaurant a bit more.
4 – 1923
Named for the year The Walt Disney Company was founded, 1923 is an elegant celebration of the company’s legacy, paying homage to the golden age of animation and offering a tasteful tribute to its Californian heritage.
Combining classic Hollywood glamour with a dash of Disney whimsy, 1923 features two lavishly appointed dining rooms aptly named for the men behind the magic of the original film studio — Walt and Roy Disney. The rooms are adorned with more than 1,000 drawings, props, and other tools of the trade, providing an inside look at the evolution of Disney animation from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” to “Frozen 2.”
In 1923, guests can enjoy sophisticated dishes designed with families in mind and inspired by the fusion of cultural flavors throughout the Golden State. The diverse menu mirrors the region’s blend of Asian, European, and South American cuisines, featuring local ingredients like fresh produce, wild honey, and earthy pistachios. All paired, of course, with a superlative selection of world-famous Napa Valley wines.
5 – Marceline Market
Named for Walt Disney’s early childhood hometown in Missouri, Marceline Market is a stylish food hall inspired by popular marketplaces around the world. Here, guests find an ever-changing menu in a vibrant, free-flow setting with indoor and outdoor seating and ocean views.
Featuring ten food stalls and a café-style beverage bar in the center, Marceline Market feels like an old industrial loft converted into a bustling marketplace with a distinctly Disney design twist. Cast members curate a wide-ranging variety of freshly prepared cuisines for the whole family, including American classics, international specialties, comfort foods, seafood, soups and salads, vegetarian and plant-based fare, baked goods, and desserts.
Marceline Market is a casual, walk-around dining experience for breakfast and lunch. We have always enjoyed our meals here, and this cruise was no different. We appreciate the variety of offerings and the fact that you can get Mickey Waffles for breakfast!
6 – Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods
While we love Marceline Market, we find ourselves eating lunch on the pool deck more and more because of the fantastic offerings and variety from Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods. It’s the perfect place for families to grab a quick bite for lunch, dinner, or anytime in between. Avid Disney cruisers will be particularly pleased by the mix of fan-favorite treats, like Disney Cruise Line’s signature soft-serve ice cream, with two popular selections that debuted on the Disney Wish, quick-service venues for barbeque and Mexican-inspired fare.
This open-air eatery features five themed food stalls: Mickey’s Smokestack Barbecue, Donald’s Cantina, Daisy’s Pizza Pies, Goofy’s Grill, and Sweet Minnie’s Ice Cream. The whimsical design is inspired by the seaside boardwalk setting featured in popular “Mickey Mouse” animated shorts, a fitting addition to the Mickey and Friends-themed family district on the upper decks. A sizable, shaded seating area provides convenient and comfortable accommodations for families to relax and enjoy their meals.
7 – Adult Specialty Dining
All of the above dining options are included in your cruise fare. However, be aware that aboard the Disney Treasure, adults 18+ can enjoy gourmet meals at Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement, inspired by the elegant icons of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Beauty and the Beast” for a very reasonable fee. Since this article focuses on the included dining with your cruise fare, we won’t say more here. However, there are fantastic options for adults looking for an elevated dining experience during their time on the Disney Treasure.
