DISNEY NEWS ROUNDUP: Attraction to Close for New Show; Welcome Change to TRON; Water Park Reopening; Special Halloween Treats & More
This week, Disney announced that one of its most popular rides would finally get a standby queue with the elimination of the virtual queue, a new Villains-themed show will close down an attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and we learned when Blizzard Beach will open later this fall. 1 – Attraction to Close to Make Way for New Villains Show Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios
In addition to a new Villains-themed land coming to Magic Kingdom, Disney has announced that a new live production, Disney Villains Show, is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Lightning McQueen Racing Academy will close soon to make way for the new show. Learn more at the link below.
2 – Virtual Queue for TRON Lightcycle / Run to End at Magic Kingdom
Since its opening in April 2023, TRON Lightcyle /Run has used a virtual queue, which required guests to join each morning to obtain a boarding group to ride the attraction. This week, Disney announced that a regular standby queue will finally be used for the popular attraction. Learn more at the link below!

3 – Blizzard Beach Reopening Date Announced and New Water Park Seasonal pass
Disney has announced the reopening date for Blizzard Beach. Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will close at that time. Also, a new seasonal water park pass has been announced. Learn more at the link below!

6 – Magic Kingdom Party Updates
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party dates in September are now sold out, and October dates have also begun to sell out. Only eight party dates remain available. Don’t wait any longer if you plan on attending one of these party dates in October. We expect all party dates will sell out.
Also, the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party for November 8 has sold out. It’s the first party date to sell out. It’s a bit unexpected for that date to sell out in September. Much like the Halloween Party, we expect all Christmas Party dates to sell out eventually. If you have a date in mind, we recommend purchasing your tickets as soon as possible so you are not disappointed.
