Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, Disney Cruise Line’s newest private island destination, is welcoming guests. Disney Eats has released a look at some of the delicious food guests can enjoy on the island. Catch all the details below.





 

Here are all the details from Disney Cast Member Nicole Cantore:

The island vibes and flavors are calling your name because Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is welcoming guests! [On this] vibrant island destination for Disney Cruise Line, you’ll be met with the delicious flavors of The Bahamas, along with other guest favorites and some menu items inspired by Bahamian recipes. And we’ve got your first look at them, including some sips you’ll definitely want to try.

Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is being built with and will be serviced with sustainable practices in mind. Disney Cruise Line is committed to sending zero waste to landfill, and one way we’re reducing waste is through the use of all reusable service ware – including stainless steel cups – at the island destination’s food and beverage locations.

Let’s kick things off with the food. You may be wondering, where can I eat at Disney Lookout Cay? I’ve got you covered. Guest favorites such as Grilled BBQ RibsIsland Spiced Rotisserie Chicken, freshly Grilled Cheeseburgers, a wide selection of sides and freshly prepared salads, and even some Bahamian inspired dishes will be served up at True-True BBQ and True-True Too BBQ, while Serenity Bay BBQ will serve adults exclusively.

    • Bahamian Pigeon Peas & Rice with marinated chicken, oven-baked plantains, and fried okra
    • Grilled Cheeseburger on a brioche bun with shredded iceberg lettuce, red onion, tomatoes, and pickles with french fries with American coleslaw
    • Disney Lookout Cay Spiced Rotisserie Chicken marinated with Bay Leaves, onion, sweet pepper, lime, thyme, and goat pepper with grilled pineapple and black bean salad
    • Plant-based Island Curry with tofu, cilantro, and potatoes (Plant-based)

    • Bahamian-style Lime marinated grilled snapper with sautéed pickled vegetables yucca fries
    • Grilled BBQ Ribs with “smoky BBQ” sauce, grilled corn, and yucca fries




 

Let’s move onto the refreshing sips you’ll be able to enjoy on Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. A variety of ice-cold beverages will be served at Mangroves and GoBlue Hole BarBow and Ribbon BarWatering HoleReef and Wreck Bar, and Sandsational Smoothies.

These spots at this new tropical destination will feature Bahamian-inspired drinks along with classic cocktails, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages, with select sips including locally sourced products for an authentic beverage experience. For those looking for the Disney Lookout Cay signature cocktail, the Eleuthera Euphoria will be made with rum, pineapple smoothie mix, and DOLE Whip. Some of the can’t-miss items include:

    • Bahama Brew: Cold brew coffee blended with Hawaiian island syrup, cold brew, finished with a coconut flavored soft whip topping (Non-alcoholic beverage)
    • Butterfly Switcha: Specialty Mocktail made with lemonade, butterfly pea jasmine green tea, and a sprinkle of blue edible glitter (Non-alcoholic beverage)

1 – Admire Bahamian Artistry Throughout the Island

One of the first things you’ll notice about Lookout Cay is the rich culture of The Bahamas is prevalent throughout the island.  Walt Disney Imagineering collaborated with local artists to reflect the essence of The Bahamas in the design and experiences at Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. Be on the lookout for beautiful permanent art installations by Bahamian artists. These are on display throughout Disney Lookout Cay, showcasing inspired local talent, including:

  • A large sculpture created by Antonius Roberts located near the tram stop was constructed from a fallen tree that was found on Lighthouse Point property prior to construction.
  • Paintings by Kevin Cooper are displayed in the Goombay Cultural Center and cabanas.
  • Nature-inspired sculptures created by ceramicist Imogene Walkine are featured above the destination’s bars, along with Junkanoo-inspired tilework in locations such as the Goombay Cultural Center.
  • Plaited fish, pineapples, conch and Junkanoo headdresses by Philip and Michelle Kemp in the Goombay Cultural Center and cabanas.
  • Wood carvings on exterior doors inspired by Andret John’s original designs.
  • Original murals painted by Dorman Stubbs have been replicated and are featured on many buildings.

2 – Enjoy Disney Entertainment with Bahamian Flare

The Goombay Cultural Center celebrates the rich history of The Bahamas and serves as a place where families learn Bahamian traditions and crafts from local artisans. Twice a day, local Junkanoos parade to the Goombay Cultural Center during RUSH! A Junkanoo Celebration at Disney Lookout Cay. During this celebration, guests are introduced to the signature festival of dancing and music and are encouraged to join along. It’s a great show, one you don’t want to miss!

 

3 – Fun Beach Bash

You won’t want to miss playing fun beach games with Goofy, Pluto, and Chip ‘n’ Dale at the Play-Play Pavilion. Guests of all ages can join in on the fun and will love the sound of Bahamian renditions of Disney tunes arranged and performed by Bahamian artists. Games include Goofy’s Good Day Limbo, Pluto’s Pineapple Ring Toss, and Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Water Brigade. This one was a lot of fun!

4 – Be on the Lookout for Mickey and Friends in Exclusive Outfits

On Lookout Cay, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Pluto, and Chip ‘n’ Dale all wear new exclusive distinct looks created by Bahamian fashion designer Theodore Elyett. The designs embody the spirit of Junkanoo with their prints, patterns, and textures, which include natural Bahamian materials like raffia. You can greet the characters during your visit or see them during RUSH! A Junkanoo Celebration at Disney Lookout Cay and Disney Fun in the Sun Beach Bash.





 

5 – Stop and Grab a Photo at the Mickey Junkanoo-Inspired Photo Backdrop

Throughout the destination, Junkanoo-inspired backdrops of the iconic Disney characters serve as the perfect photo spots for guests. You don’t want to miss the Mickey backdrop as you leave the Goombay Cultural Center Tram Stop! Disney PhotoPass photographers are standing by!

6 – Take Time to Shop Disney’s Exclusive Lookout Cay Merchandise

Bahamian fashion designer Theodore Elyett not only designed the character outfits but also designed a full collection of clothing and accessories for guests, which can be found at Disney T’ings. Guests can also find an array of brightly colored Disney Junkanoo-inspired merchandise and a variety of island-inspired Disney merchandise reflective of the island experience.

 

7 – Shop Bahamian Artists at Treasure of Eleuthera

Treasures of Eleuthera is a shop of Bahamian-made and inspired retail. The store spotlights Bahamian artists through an array of unique keepsakes for families to bring home. You may just find the perfect item to bring home!

8 – Take in the Natural Beauty of the Island by Walking the Nature Trail

The natural beauty of the island is evident everywhere you look. The Nature Trail allows the opportunity to discover Eleuthera’s beautiful scenery while walking or biking to the easternmost end of Eleuthera, taking in the incredible views of the Atlantic Ocean. As you walk along the trail, be on the lookout for bronze sculptures that highlight indigenous animals including money bat moths, curly-tailed lizards and land crabs. It’s a great option for seeing the quieter side of the island.

9 – Enjoy Bahamian-Inspired Lunch on the Island

While visiting Lookout Cay, you’ll enjoy a Bahamian-inspired lunch at either True-True and True-True Too BBQ, the main dining areas, and Serenity Bay BBQ, the adult dining area. Guests can enjoy menu items inspired by local recipes, including Bahamian pigeon peas and rice and Bahamian-style lime marinated grilled snapper, in addition to classic favorites, including barbecue ribs, island spiced rotisserie chicken, and grilled cheeseburgers.

10 – Enjoy Exclusive Drinks and Novelty Items

There are plenty of options for guests looking for some exclusive drinks while visiting the island. There are four bars for adults: Bow & Ribbon Bar, Watering Hole Bar and Reef & Wreck Bar, the Blue Hole Bar, and Sandsational Smoothies, which serves specialty frozen drinks. Locally sourced beverages are available there, such as Bahamas Goombay Punch soda, Bahamas Coffee Roasters coffee, locally roasted in Eleuthera, and Pirate Republic Brewing Company Long John Pineapple Pilsner. The Disney Lookout Cay signature cocktail, Eleuthera Euphoria, is a blend of premium aged rum and pineapple smoothie topped with pineapple-shaped candy. Guests can also purchase the exclusive Lookout Cay souvenir coffee cup while visiting the island. The cup is full of colorful Bahamian motifs, from waves to pineapples to wildlife and seashells.
