Updates on Events, Tours, Recreation, and More During Disney World’s Reopening
With the recent announcement of cancelations and modifications of certain fall events, Walt Disney World has updated its website to reflect important information regarding its Enchanted Extras — the special events, tours, recreation, and other experiences available at Walt Disney World. Below you’ll find policies for these experiences and a confirmed updated list of what will not be available during the phased reopening of Walt Disney World. We will update this article as more information is made available. Catch all the details below.
Here is the information from the Walt Disney World Website:
1 – Updates to Events, Tours, and Other Experiences
As we prepare for the reopening of our theme parks, we’re taking a measured and deliberate approach to our planning that applies appropriate new health and safety measures. We continue to follow guidance from government and health officials for responsibly operating our theme parks, so we can make the right adjustments to our offerings.
At this time, some dining locations are currently unavailable. Learn more about updates to dining during the phased reopening of Walt Disney World Resort.
During the initial reopening period, some special events, tours, and other experiences may be modified, limited in capacity or unavailable in order to promote physical distancing.
Please check this page often, as details may change.
2 – What You’ll Need
Before your special event, tour or experience, please be aware that you’ll need:
- Face coverings for each Guest age 2 and up—which must be worn in all public areas, except while eating
- Interested in an in-park experience? To enter one of the parks, in addition to valid admission, each Guest is required to make a theme park reservation
Also, it’s highly recommended to have:
- The latest version of the My Disney Experience app on your mobile device, with location services and notifications enabled
- A cashless or contactless form of payment
3 – Booking Windows
When reservations resume, Guests will be able to make dining and experience reservations up to 60 days in advance to allow guests to make their plans closer to their visits. In addition, Disney Resort hotel Guests can make reservations up to 60 days in advance plus the length of their stay (up to 10 days).
4 – Special Events
Taste of Epcot International Food & Wine Festival
We’ve cooked up a creative, modified experience to make this our longest festival yet—giving you plenty of time to enjoy the Taste of Epcot International Food & Wine Festival! This new take on the beloved foodie festival will debut July 15 and continue through the fall, offering over 20 signature global marketplaces like Hawaii, Hops & Barley and Islands of the Caribbean, spaced out around the park.
Floral fun from the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival will carry over! Look for Remy, our newest topiary, in the France pavilion, along with merchandise from the spring festival. Taste of Epcot International Food & Wine Festival merchandise will join the fun after the festival begins. For scavenger hunt fans, you can look forward to a new experience that celebrates the best of both festivals.
To allow for physical distancing, the Eat to the Beat Concert Series will not take place this year. There will be plenty of music to enjoy at America Gardens Theatre with local Epcot entertainment such as Mariachi Cobre, the JAMMitors and more—and performances spread throughout the day.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
Many hallmarks of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party—like stage shows, parades and fireworks—cannot take place in this new, unprecedented environment. With that in mind, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. If you already bought tickets, we will reach out to you in the coming weeks to assist with refunds.
Disney H2O Glow Nights
This nighttime hard ticket event at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park will not take place for the remainder of 2020. If you already bought tickets, we will reach out to you in the coming weeks to assist with refunds.
Holiday Events
Check back later for updates about holiday events, such as Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays, which includes Candlelight Processional. We are monitoring our new environment closely, and will make a decision on these events as we continue to learn more from government and health officials.
