7 Top Experiences at Night Outside of the Disney World Parks
It seems like nighttime at Disney is when all of the spectacular activities happen! When in the parks, we have a chance to experience the different nighttime spectaculars at each park. While all of these activities are absolutely incredible, we can still have a fantastic time enjoying the nightlife outside of the parks. Here are our top seven experiences at night outside of the parks.
7 – Miniature Golf
Disney World offers two great miniature golf locations: Winter Summerland and Fantasia Gardens & Fairways. When thinking of miniature golf, we tend to think of daytime putting, but instead, check out miniature golfing at night! Both Disney’s miniature golf locations don’t close until 10 pm most days, providing plenty of nighttime fun. The greens, holes, and surrounding structures that add to the theme of the courses remain beautifully lit so you can enjoy putting into the late hours. Plus, let’s not forget about the benefit of putting after the sun has gone down. You’ll be thankful to be out of the Florida rays!
6 – Splitsville Bowling
Slide those bowling shoes on and get ready for some strikes along with some incredible food. Splitsville at Disney Springs is a popular place at night simply because it’s a fun place to be! Whether you decide to bowl a few games, be seated for a great meal, or just relax at the lounge – you can’t go wrong with Splitsville. We especially love their vast menu with items such as sushi, pizza, nachos, and more!
5 – BoardWalk
Disney’s BoardWalk at night is a great place to be! The streamed lights along the boardwalk seem to make the water glow. The tasty food, snacks, and beverages add to the boardwalk vibe. This is an excellent place for a romantic stroll. Don’t forget to check out Jellyroll’s dueling pianos! Or if you’d like, dance the night away at the Atlantic Dance Hall. Tip – if you time it right, you may even see the top of the fireworks in the distance from Epcot and/or the fireworks at Hollywood Studios.
4 – Electrical Water Pageant
What better way to cap off your day than with a nighttime water parade? It’s not very often you get to see water transportation float by with all sorts of beautiful lights to a fun electronic tune. You might spot sea creatures, flags, and more stream by. The way the lights reflect off the water at night is just beautiful! Check with Guest Services to confirm times, but typically the best viewing areas and times are as follows: Polynesian Resort, Grand Floridian Resort, Wilderness Lodge, Fort Wilderness, Contemporary Resort, and outside the entrance at Magic Kingdom from 8:25-10:30 pm.
3 – Chip ‘N’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-Along
Fort Wilderness is bursting with all sorts of exciting activities, but when it comes to nighttime fun – check out Chip ‘N’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-Along. Even as adults, we still have fond memories of hanging out by the fire with Chip and Dale. If you bring your own s’ more goodies and sticks (also available at Chuckwagon Snack Bar), you can roast a marshmallow and taste a yummy s’ more. A guitar-playing cowboy plays some of the old-time favorites for family and friends to sing along with. You’ll have a good old time!
2 – Cirque du Soleil
It’s as if you’re stuck in one of your crazy dreams! Don’t miss an opportunity to watch the live performance at Disney Springs, which is Drawn to Life by Cirque du Soleil. This ticketed event is one of the top choices for night activities on Disney property because of its’ uniqueness and exciting atmosphere. When the show ends, have a great time strolling through Disney Springs’s nightlife for shopping and dining.
1 – Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue Dinner Show
We rank Disney’s Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, located at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, as our number one for top experiences at night outside of the parks. You’re in for a treat with this comedy show featuring dancing, singing, and corny jokes. The food comes served family-style in an all-you-care-to-eat bountiful supply of fried chicken and smoked BBQ pork ribs, as well as a tossed green salad, cowboy beans, fresh-baked cornbread, macaroni-and-cheese and creamy coleslaw. Enjoy the western-inspired show as you sit back and consume the food you can’t stop piling onto your plate. But be sure to save room for dessert! The famous strawberry shortcake is the perfect ending to a delicious meal with some great entertainment!
