10 Top Best Souvenirs at Disney’s Magic Kingdom

Disney’s Magic Kingdom is truly the most magical place on earth. Luckily there are plenty of souvenirs for sale to help families remember their trip. Picture frames, clothing, attraction photos, and Minnie Ears are some of the gifts that instantly come to mind. But there are a few unique souvenirs that are either exclusive to Magic Kingdom or are sure to evoke particularly strong memories of visiting the park. Of course, you could always go all out and buy the ridiculously expensive Cinderella Castle made out of diamonds and crystals (the one that always glitters from the windows of Crystal Arts on Main Street)- but there are a few other souvenirs that are just as magical, and will leave more room in your wallet!

10 – Popcorn Buckets

Not only are popcorn buckets a great way to enjoy popcorn during your Walt Disney World vacation (refills are only $2.25), but they make a fantastic souvenir. Disney has released so many specialty popcorn buckets throughout the years and Magic Kingdom usually has some of the most unique ones. It’s not uncommon for many of these specialty buckets to sell out. This is especially true during the Halloween and Christmas parties. Both special events offer buckets that you can’t get anywhere else. So go ahead and splurge on that bucket–you won’t regret it!

9 – Postcards

While more of an experience than an actual souvenir, think how cool it would be to receive a postcard from the Magic Kingdom? Main Street U.S.A has active mailboxes, where mail gets collected by USPS. A neat thing to do is buy a postcard from the Emporium, get a special stamp from the Chamber of Commerce that shows you are mailing it from Disney, write out your message, and mail the postcard home to yourself (and a friend if you’re feeling generous). It’ll be a nice surprise to see when your trip is over, and it makes for a cute keepsake!

8 – Tomorrowland Speedway Driver’s License

This is one of those small, but unique souvenirs that you can only get at the Magic Kingdom! When you head to Tomorrowland to ride the Tomorrowland Speedway, make sure to check out the Driver’s License booths. For $5, you can create your very own license! This one is especially great for kids, especially if the only car they can be trusted with at the moment are the ones on the Speedway.

7 – Haunted Mansion Merchandise

Memento Mori is one of my favorite gift shops at the Magic Kingdom, and it is definitely the best place to buy exclusive Haunted Mansion attraction merchandise! Most of the merchandise in the store was created especially for the Disney parks, and you can find unique pins, shirts, and specialty items like a heat-sensitive Hatbox Ghost mug, a Haunted Mansion door knocker, figurines of the singing busts, Minnie Ears inspired by the Ballerina Stretching Room portrait, ornaments, and more. Fans of the Haunted Mansion should plan to spend a lot of time in this small, yet special gift shop- even if you’ve visited before, don’t hesitate to hurry back! The items for sale here are always changing, so if something catches your eye, make sure to snag it!

6 – Silhouettes

Silhouettes were popular in the 18^th century and were meant to capture a person’s likeness at a certain time in his or her life. Nowadays, you can have your own silhouette made in the Magic Kingdom- just visit Main Street U.S.A (the alleyway between Uptown Jewelers and Crystal Arts) or Liberty Square (near the entrance to Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe). These cut-paper silhouettes make wonderful, unique souvenirs that don’t necessarily scream “Disney,” and you can have them framed and displayed in your home.

5 – Parasols

If you’re looking for another period-specific souvenir, you can have a parasol painted at a stand in Liberty Square, near the Hall of Presidents. These parasols work great for keeping cool, and once the paint dries, they can be used as umbrellas (although I wouldn’t want to risk ruining them- Florida downpours can be brutal). Parasols come in large or mini sizes, and the base price includes a hand-painted name, flowers, and hearts on alternating panels. For more customized artwork (such as having your favorite character added), there is an additional charge of $5 per design. I still have a parasol that I bought from Magic Kingdom years ago, and looking at it always brings me back to that vacation!

4 – Gaston’s Stein

My dad’s favorite villain is Gaston, so naturally, anytime we want to buy him gifts, we visit Bonjour! Village Gifts in Fantasyland. This store definitely makes me feel like I’m visiting a small boutique in France, and they sell the most beautiful Beauty and the Beast-themed items. You can get an actual crystal red rose under a glass vase, a handheld Lumiere candlestick, a Cogsworth clock, and a Chip mug, along with clothing, scarves, jewelry, throw pillows, paintings, and dish sets all themed to characters from Beauty and the Beast. For the fellow Gaston-lovers, there is an excellent stein advertising Gaston’s Tavern that you can take home. However, since merchandise in this store does seem to rotate, there are usually other types of Gaston-inspired items available.

3 – Dole Whip Tiki Sipper

One of the things I miss most after a trip to Disney are the delicious, cold, creamy Dole Whips. And while you can get them at the Polynesian Village Resort, I mostly associate Dole Whips with Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom. While you can’t take the Dole Whips home with you, you can choose to purchase your Pineapple Float with a Tiki Sipper. This way, you can at least invoke the memories of pineapple goodness when using the sipper at home. Make sure to visit Aloha Isle on your next trip to Magic Kingdom- it never disappoints!

2 – Pirates of the Caribbean Merchandise

If Memento Mori is the best Haunted Mansion gift shop, then the shop located at the exit to Pirates of the Caribbean is the best place for Pirates-related merchandise. Plus, it’s just a fun store to play in! It always makes me smile when I see kids attempt to swordfight with foam swords or try wearing a rubber hook over their hands. You can purchase striped socks and bandannas to keep the pirates’ spirit going throughout the trip. For more serious pirate collectors, there is a lot of artwork, mugs, clothing, and playing cards for sale. Walking around this shop and breathing in the scent of musty Pirates of the Caribbean water is a classic Magic Kingdom experience and a perfect place to pick out a unique souvenir.

1 – Mickey Ears

Mickey Ears are, in my opinion, the best souvenir you could get from the Magic Kingdom. When you wear them, you can just feel the magic coursing through you. Of course, there are dozens upon dozens of varieties of Minnie Ear headbands, but nothing beats those traditional black hats and ears with embroidered letters on the back. Hats can be monogrammed at The Chapeau on Main Street, and they look wonderful when worn for pictures in front of the castle. Pair a set of ears with a balloon and a bucket of popcorn, and you’ll truly be living that Magic Kingdom aesthetic!
