7 Tips and Tricks for Drinking Around Epcot’s World Showcase

Many guests who visit Walt Disney World love to spend time in Epcot exploring all that the unique park has to offer. World Showcase features eleven different pavilions which each highlight one country from around the world with beautiful architecture, dining, entertainment, attractions, shopping, culture, and details. Some adult guests who spend time in World Showcase like to enjoy an activity dubbed drinking around the world which entails trying a different, generally alcoholic, beverage from each country of World Showcase. With eleven pavilions each featuring plenty of drink options, drinking around the world can be as daunting as it is entertaining. In order to truly make the most of drinking around the world and enjoying the experience, guests need to know a few tips and tricks before beginning. These tips and tricks will help guests have fun during the experience and not end up feeling tired, sick, or overwhelmed. Here are the seven tips and tricks to fully enjoy drinking around Epcot’s World Showcase.

1 – Start Early

Some offerings in World Showcase open at eleven, even if the park itself opens earlier. Guests who want to make the most out of drinking around the world should plan on being there at that time. By beginning early in the day, guests are able to spend all afternoon and evening drinking around the world which allows them to spread out their drinks and not become too intoxicated by rushing or running out of time.

2 – Begin In Mexico

Another great tip for the beginning of the day is to start on the Mexico side of World Showcase. Mexico is obviously focused on tequila, and the heavy drink can be a great option to start with rather than end with. Some great options to enjoy when drinking around the world in the Mexico Pavilion can be found outside at La Cantina de San Angel which offers great views of World Showcase Lagoon and inside the pyramid at La Cava de Tequila which serves up specialty margaritas in interesting and unique flavors.

3 – Go With A Group

Eleven countries and eleven drinks is a lot of alcohol, even when spread out throughout an entire day. One of the best ways to enjoy drinking around the world is with a group of friends and family. By having a group, guests can order up several beverages that can then be split amongst them. This is a great strategy to use as it allows guests to sample many different drinks as well as only have a little bit and not commit to one full drink in each country.

4 – Stay Hydrated

The easiest way to keep everyone happy and responsible when drinking around the world is by committing to stay hydrated. When alcohol is combined with the high temperatures, high humidity, and strong sun of Central Florida, guests can quickly become too intoxicated, sick, or miserable. Guests who want to totally enjoy their time drinking around the world should aim to consume one glass of water for each beverage enjoyed. A great way to keep costs down while remaining hydrated is to carry a refillable water bottle with a built-in filter which can be filled up at any water fountain for free.

5 – Stop for Food

In addition to water, food is a major factor in successfully drinking around the world without any problems. Luckily, World Showcase is home to some of the most amazing dining options in all of Walt Disney World. Each country of World Showcase is home to at least one quick service and one full-service restaurant in addition to stalls, carts, and many other locations to purchase food from. Guests who want to really enjoy their time in each country should try one snack or food item to accompany each beverage. This will keep them fed and reduce the risk of becoming too intoxicated. An additional way to keep everyone happy when drinking around the world is to stop at one point to enjoy a full-service meal, giving guests a chance to sit down, recuperate, and eat.

6 – Check Your Progress

Many guests have come up with some very creative methods of keeping track of their progress around World Showcase. We’ve seen many different t-shirts that people have made up with each country pavilion. Usually, these shirts have spaces for a checkmark to be filled in when the guests have visited the country. Another idea is to have someone in your party make up a simple checklist and have them printed on cardstock. These can make great keepsakes of your visit!

7 – Spend Time Exploring

The final tip that makes drinking around the world totally enjoyable is stopping to take the time to fully explore and enjoy each pavilion. With amazing stores to wander through, details to soak up, and entertainment to enjoy, the countries of World Showcase are filled with amazing experiences. Guests should also plan on enjoying the attractions of World Showcase including The Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros, Reflections of China, the American Adventure, Impressions de France, Beauty and the Beast Sing Along, Remy’s Ratouille Adventure, and Canada Far and Wide!
