In early January 2023, Walt Disney World announced the end of the very unpopular resort parking fee for overnight guests. The overnight parking fee went into effect in March 2018 and was met with a lot of resistance from guests. Prices ranged from $13-$24 for vehicles parking overnight. Thankfully, Disney has listened to guest feedback, and the resort parking fee is gone. Since most off-property hotels near Walt Disney World charge for parking, the removal of the resort parking fee is a great benefit of staying at a Walt Disney World resort.

Walt Disney World resort guests also enjoy free parking at all four theme parks. The parking fee is $30 a day, which certainly adds up. It’s just another great reason to stay on property!

3 – Complimentary Disney Transportation

One of the biggest perks about staying on property at a Walt Disney World Resort is the complimentary Disney transportation offered to guests. Depending on the Disney Resort, guests can travel directly to the four theme parks, two water parks, and Disney Springs via buses, monorails, ferries, the Disney Skyliner, and boats. By not having to worry about driving, directions, parking, and more, guests are able to simply hop aboard convenient and quick Disney transportation and travel easily to any destination on property.

4 – Enter the Theme Parks Early

While Disney has discontinued Extra Magic Hours, Disney offers Walt Disney World Resort guests a 30-minute entry to any theme park every day. While this benefit is thirty minutes instead of one hour, Extra Magic Hours were only offered on select days and only one park per day. Now, guests are able to enter early at any park they desire, and it’s super easy to enter the park. This benefit allows guests to head to popular attractions first and get a jump on the line. You may be able to skip paying for Individual Lightning Lane access as well, which will save you money. Now, at park opening, wait times for those popular attractions can already be over an hour!

Each Disney Resort room on property features a television that comes with access to all of the normal broadcasting channels. In addition to the normal channels, there are several exclusive ones that feature useful information like park hours, weather, and Disney Vacation Club information.

6 – Amazing Pools

Every Disney Resort is home to at least one pool location, allowing guests to kick back, catch some rays, cool off, and relax. Many of the pools in Walt Disney World are amazing, but one of the most unique ones is Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Spanning over three acres, Stormalong Bay features a sun deck, sand-bottomed zero-depth entry pool, lazy river, hot tubs, and water slides. Other amazing pools to enjoy at Disney Resorts are the Lava Pool at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, the Big Blue Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, and Doubloon Lagoon at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort.
